Eugene White, D.V.M., DABVP, is a Professor and Amelia Peabody Foundation Chair in Agricultural Sciences at Tufts University's Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Ambulatory Medicine and Theriogenology. He joined Tufts in 1997 as an Instructor and has held roles including Associate Professor and Associate Chair. Education: BS from University of New Hampshire (1991), Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University (1995). Board-certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in dairy practice. Research Interests: Focus on bovine lameness, advanced reproductive technologies (embryo transfer, ovum pick-up), dairy production medicine, sustainable agriculture in New England, and small ruminant mastitis. Active in preserving genetic biodiversity of livestock through projects like the SVF Foundation Cryorepository. Teaching: Instructs courses in Food Animal Medicine, Clinical Dermatology, Veterinary Ethics, and Bovine Procedures. Received the Carl Norden Distinguished Teacher Award (2005). Grants: Includes the SVF Foundation's Rare Breeds Preservation Program (2017–2019) and a study on bovine sole ulcers using skin repair scaffolds (2016–2017). Professional Activities: Member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners and American Veterinary Medical Association. Served on committees such as the Lameness Committee and Tufts' Appointments and Promotions Committee.
