Alessandro Vindigni is a Senior Lecturer and Privatdozent at the Department of Physics, ETH Zürich. His research focuses on Applications of Statistical Physics to Magnetism and Network Science, with expertise in stochastic dynamics, phase transitions, and complex networks. He has contributed to studies on quantum dynamics of single molecule magnets on superconducting surfaces, critical phenomena in frustrated systems, and domain wall dynamics in ferromagnets. His teaching includes the Autumn Semester 2025 course Introduction to Magnetism , emphasizing theoretical and experimental approaches to magnetic phenomena. He has also authored a Habilitation Thesis and developed teaching materials integrating advanced microscopy techniques like scanning field-emission microscopy. Key research interests include nanoscale magnetism, quantum tunneling in molecular magnets, and the interplay between electric fields and magnetic exchange interactions. His work bridges experimental and computational methods, with applications in materials science and condensed matter physics.
