Dr. Lacy D. Sukovaty is a Professor and School Director at the William H. Darr College of Agriculture , School of Agricultural Sciences and Conservation at Missouri State University. After seven years in full-time clinical mixed animal veterinary practice, she transitioned to academia in Fall 2015, bringing expertise in animal health, nutrition, reproduction, surgery, and behavior. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (2008), University of Missouri-Columbia BS in Animal Science (2004), Missouri State University Her research and professional interests focus on mixed animal clinical practice, preventative health, and the prevalence of intestinal parasites in dogs. She also manages a commercial cow/calf operation and contributes to bridging the disconnect between consumers and farmers. Affiliations: American Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, National/Missouri/Polk County Cattlemen’s Association, Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, Southwest Missouri Veterinary Medical Association Dr. Sukovaty has been featured in media outlets like KOLR10 (2019) discussing mental health impacts on the farming industry. Her teaching responsibilities include courses on companion animal science, food safety, dairy production, and internships.
