Nasloon Ali is a Lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, University of Dundee, and a member of the Mother and Infant Research Unit. An epidemiologist from Singapore, she previously led the Mutaba'ah cohort (15,000 mothers and children) in the UAE for seven years and worked as an epidemiologist in Singapore. She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Dundee and a doctoral degree with a thesis on recurrent miscarriage. Her research expertise centers on maternal and child health, including perinatal mental health, gestational diabetes, antenatal care, gestational weight gain, perinatal loss, miscarriage, breastfeeding, and environmental exposures during pregnancy. She utilizes mixed methods research and prioritizes data quality and analytics. Dr. Ali is currently recruiting PhD students for the following unfunded projects: Perinatal loss and its impact on the mental and physical health of women who go through miscarriages and stillbirth Women’s experiences of future obstetric health after one or many perinatal losses with application deadlines of January 31, 2026. During the pandemic, she collaborated with AstraZeneca on drug efficacy for severe asthma. She plans to extend her perinatal loss research to other cohorts and actively contribute to the Mother and Infant Research Unit's initiatives.
