Dr. Oded Rabin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Maryland. He holds affiliations with the Institute for Research in Electronics & Applied Physics, Maryland Energy Innovation Institute, and Aerospace Engineering. His research focuses on nanomaterials synthesis, thermoelectric properties, plasmonics, and energy applications. He joined UMD in 2007 after postdoctoral training at MIT and UC Berkeley. Education: B.A. in Chemistry, Technion, Haifa, Israel M.Sc. in Chemistry, Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, MIT (2004) Research Interests: Dr. Rabin explores nanowire fabrication, porous thin films, interfacial nanoscience, and applications in sensing, energy generation, and biomarkers. His work emphasizes low-dimensional systems and their unique thermal/electrical properties. Teaching: He teaches courses including ENMA 300 (Materials Engineering), ENMA 430/630 (Quantum Effects in Nanomaterials), and ENMA 660 (Materials Thermodynamics). Awards: NSF CAREER Award (2012) Fulbright U.S. Scholar (2022) Labs/Teams: Director of the Materials and Interface NanoTechnology Laboratory. His group collaborates on projects involving plasmonic structures, thermoelectrics, and bio-nano interfaces.
