Professor Luiz Lima is a Professor of Economics at the University of Tennessee, specializing in econometrics, applied economics, and transportation policy. His research focuses on transportation demand, child labor dynamics, trade integration effects, and textual data analysis in forecasting. He teaches courses such as International Economics (ECON 421), Time Series Econometrics (ECON 683), and Elements of Econometrics II (ECON 583). Lima has advised doctoral students including Abubakr Ziedan and Lucas Garcez, and has contributed to the development of the TextForecast R package for econometric applications. His recent work includes analyzing the impact of fare innovations on bus ridership and the effects of the Euro on bilateral trade.
