Anna Bárdits is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Economics and Business at the Central European University (CEU) in Vienna and a Junior Research Fellow at the Economics Institute of the Centre for Regional Studies (KRTK KTI) in Budapest. She earned her PhD in Economics from CEU in 2023. Her research focuses on labor economics, health economics, and education economics, with particular attention to fertility responses to economic shocks, foster care systems' impacts, and policy evaluations. Her work includes analyzing how employment instability influences reproductive decisions, comparing outcomes for children in foster care versus institutional care, and assessing educational policies. She employs rigorous quantitative methods, leveraging administrative data from Hungary to address critical socioeconomic questions. Her research highlights the interplay between economic policies and individual well-being, emphasizing evidence-based approaches to address societal challenges. Key contributions include studies on precautionary fertility behavior and the long-term effects of childhood care environments.
