Eduard Marinov is an Associate Professor at New Bulgarian University and the Institute for Economic Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He also serves as a guest lecturer at Sofia University and as Executive Director of the Institute for Public-Private Partnership. His academic career spans international economic relations, trade integration, and economic development, with particular focus on Bulgarian foreign trade, Sub-Saharan Africa, and EU integration. Marinov holds a PhD in Economic Sciences from New Bulgarian University (2024) and a PhD in International Economics from Varna Free University (2015). He also earned master's degrees in International Relations and EU Law, along with a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Sofia. His research focuses on international economic relations, with particular emphasis on trade integration theory and trends, Bulgarian foreign trade patterns, Sub-Saharan Africa's economic development, and EU integration processes. Marinov has extensively studied Africa's economic development and its interaction with the EU, along with regional development, contemporary economic theories, and innovative pedagogical practices such as gamification in education. His work bridges theoretical economic frameworks with practical applications in international trade and development. Marinov's recent publications reveal a growing focus on the evolving dynamics of global trade, EU competition policy in changing geopolitical landscapes, sustainable development through ESG frameworks, and the role of developing countries in reshaping international trade patterns. His work increasingly examines the impact of global crises like the pandemic on trade relationships, particularly between Eastern European countries and Sub-Saharan Africa, while also exploring technological innovations like blockchain in economic contexts.
