Dr. Milin Shah is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Curtin University, within the School of Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering (WASM:MECE). He holds a B.Eng. from Gujarat University and a PhD from Curtin University. His research focuses on multi-scale modeling, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and multi-phase flow systems, with applications in chemical, energy, and mineral processing. Dr. Shah has held academic positions at Curtin University since 2011, progressing from Research Associate to Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer. His work emphasizes process design optimization, granular flow modeling, and energy-efficient technologies. Key areas of research include CO 2 capture via rotating packed beds, methanol synthesis optimization, and low-carbon energy systems. He has contributed to over 40 peer-reviewed publications, including articles in Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering , Chemical Engineering and Processing , and International Journal of Refrigeration . His recent projects explore solar thermal energy integration for methanol production and fractal flow mixers for enhanced process intensification. Dr. Shah’s expertise spans computational modeling of multiphase systems, with a focus on hydrodynamics and mass transfer in complex reactors. He collaborates widely on industrial applications, including fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) risers and produced water treatment systems. His research bridges fundamental fluid dynamics with practical engineering solutions for sustainable chemical processes.
