Dongke Zhang is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the School of Engineering, The University of Western Australia (UWA), where he serves as Director of the UWA Centre for Energy. He holds concurrent research professorships at the Institute of Coal Chemistry (Chinese Academy of Sciences, Taiyuan), Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Processing Technology, and Beijing University. With a career spanning academia, industry, and international collaborations, his work focuses on combustion science, energy systems, and environmental technologies.
Research Interests include:
- Combustion science (coal, biomass, municipal waste)
- Reaction engineering (catalysis, homogeneous/heterogeneous reactions)
- Energy conversion (hydrogen economy, syngas processes)
- Environmental technologies (NOx/SOx control, photocatalysis)
- Process design (fluidised beds, short contact time reactors)
