Oriana Bandiera is a Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Director of STICERD. She holds roles as Research Programme Director for the IGC State research programme and Member of the IGC Steering Group. Her research focuses on labor economics, development economics, and public sector effectiveness, with emphasis on poverty reduction, gender empowerment, and organizational economics. Roles & Affiliations: Professor of Economics, LSE Director of STICERD Member, IGC Steering Group Research Fellow, CEPR, IZA, BREAD, JPAL-Europe Research Interests: Her work examines labor markets, public sector reforms, gender inequality, and the impact of crises (e.g., Ebola) on vulnerable populations. She has pioneered studies on vocational training for youth, community health worker recruitment, and incentives for civil servants in low-income countries. Key Projects: Evaluating anti-poverty programs in Pakistan and Uganda Analysis of South Korea’s economic transformation Climate adaptation strategies in Pakistan Gender empowerment programs in Sierra Leone Impact & Recognition: She has received the IZA Young Labor Economist Prize (2007) and the Carlo Alberto Medal (2011).
