Jiang Haoyu is an Associate Professor at Sun Yat-sen University's School of Marine Sciences, where he serves as Deputy Director of the Department of Marine Environment and Ecology. With a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and interdisciplinary training across chemistry, biology, and environmental science, he leads the Marine Atmospheric Chemistry Research Team. Education PhD, Environmental Engineering, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2014-2019) Visiting Student, Queensland University of Technology, Australia (2017-2018) Visiting Student, Naresuan University, Thailand (2015-2016) MSc, Marine Biology, Sun Yat-sen University (2011-2014) BSc, Environmental Science, Changchun University of Science and Technology (2007-2011) Research Focus His research investigates chemical processes at air-sea interfaces, organic pollutant transformation, atmospheric oxidation pathways, and heterogeneous reactions. This work combines field monitoring, laboratory experiments, and analytical chemistry to address regional and global environmental challenges. Publication Trends Recent publications demonstrate strong emphasis on atmospheric pollution mechanisms (2018-2025), with innovations in passive air sampling techniques, biomass burning impacts, air-water interface photochemistry, and regional pollution monitoring across Southeast Asia. Studies frequently integrate analytical chemistry with environmental process modeling. Grants & Funding National Natural Science Foundation General Project: ¥530,000 (2026-2029) Sun Yat-sen University Young Faculty Program: ¥160,000 (2024-2025) Guangdong Provincial Key Lab Open Fund: ¥50,000 (2024-2025) Guangdong Natural Science Foundation: ¥100,000 (2021-2023) NSFC Youth Project: ¥200,000 (2021-2022) Chinese Academy of Sciences Research Assistant: ¥800,000 (2019-2021) Laboratory & Advising The Marine Atmospheric Chemistry Research Team investigates chemical exchanges across marine-atmosphere systems. The lab actively recruits graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, encourages undergraduate participation, and supports development of independent research projects in environmental chemistry.
