Dirk Kuckling

Professor Dirk Kuckling leads the Organic and Macromolecular Chemistry Research Group in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Paderborn. His research bridges polymer chemistry, materials science, and applied chemistry, with a focus on designing functional materials for catalytic, biomedical, and sensor applications.

Research Focus: His group specializes in stimuli-responsive polymer systems, including:

• Supramolecular hydrogels with tunable cross-linking for sensor technology
• Self-accelerating drug delivery platforms using polycarbonate-polyurethane copolymers
• Polymer network-supported organocatalysts for continuous-flow microreactors
• Gel-derived porous metal oxide microstructures for catalytic processes
