Annemarie Seither-Preisler is a Professor at the Institute of Psychology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Graz. As a neuropsychologist and biologist, her research focuses on the neural foundations of auditory perception and cognition, particularly through longitudinal studies on musical training's impact on auditory brain development and disorders like dyslexia and ADHD. Research Areas: Auditory perception, neuroplasticity, developmental psychology, musicology. Collaborations: Long-term partnership with Peter Schneider (University of Heidelberg) since 2009. Her work addresses nature-nurture interactions in musicality and auditory processing, with implications for pedagogy and brain-based diagnostics. Key projects include AMseL (Audio and neuroplasticity) and the APART neuromagnetic study. Scientific Awards: APART fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (2001) Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (1993) She contributes to academic governance as former Chairwoman of the Styrian Society for Psychology (2009-2011) and Faculty Committee member for Systematic Musicology at Graz.
