Dr. Tim Luckett is an Associate Professor at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), affiliated with the IMPACCT research group within the Faculty of Health. His work bridges health, social, and implementation sciences to advance person-centered, interdisciplinary care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. He specializes in qualitative methods, surveys, and systematic reviews to evaluate complex interventions aimed at improving care quality and patient outcomes. Dr. Luckett co-chairs the Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative (PaCCSC) and co-leads the Cancer Quality of Life Expert Service Team (CQUEST), funded by Cancer Australia. He also serves as an academic editor for PLOS ONE and contributes to UTS postgraduate palliative care education. Research Focus: Chronic illness self-management, breathlessness management, palliative care innovation, and clinical trial design. Current projects include non-pharmacological interventions for COPD, opioid use patterns in cancer patients, and patient-reported outcome measures. Funded Research: Includes grants on healthcare utilisation in older cancer patients, breathlessness crisis management, and interstitial lung disease studies. He leads the ACT Breathlessness Intervention Service evaluation and co-develops self-management plans for COPD crises. Awards & Roles: Academic editor for PLOS ONE, ethics committee member (UTS MREC), and peer reviewer for multiple journals. His work emphasizes patient voice in clinical research and healthcare policy.
