Dr. Chun Ann Huang is an Associate Professor in Energy Storage Materials at the Department of Materials, Faculty of Engineering, Imperial College London, with additional affiliations to the Centre for Processable Electronics and Energy Futures Lab. She completed her undergraduate studies in Materials Science and Engineering with First Class Honours at Imperial College London and earned her DPhil in Materials Science from the University of Oxford. Her previous academic positions include Lecturer at King's College London and Senior Lecturer/Reader at Imperial College London. Her research encompasses sustainable manufacturing technologies for energy devices (including lithium-ion, solid-state, sodium-ion, and lithium-sulfur batteries, and supercapacitors), novel energy materials development, operando X-ray correlative imaging, and advanced characterization techniques. Her interdisciplinary work spans materials chemistry, nanotechnology, and electrochemical engineering. She was honored with the Royal Society of Chemistry's 2025 Marlow Prize for early-career contributions. She teaches specialized courses including Electroceramics (focusing on electrical properties in crystalline ceramics and electrochemical device degradation) and Performance of Functional Materials - Batteries (covering redox reactions, battery characteristics, and electrode material design). Dr. Huang actively seeks prospective PhD students and researchers for her group, noting that fully funded scholarships may be available through application submission including CV and cover letter.
