Dr. Hamed Ahmadi is a Reader in Digital Engineering at the University of York, UK, and an adjunct associate professor at University College Dublin. He holds a PhD from the National University of Singapore (2012) and has held academic roles at institutions including University College Dublin and the University of Essex. His research focuses on wireless communications networks, machine learning for network automation, UAV communications, blockchain, and cognitive radio networks. He leads projects funded by EPSRC, including work on O-RAN energy efficiency and 6G network resilience. Dr. Ahmadi has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers and serves on editorial boards for IEEE Communications Standards Magazine and Springer Wireless Networks. He is a senior member of IEEE and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. His current research emphasizes 6G innovations such as digital twins, explainable AI, and energy-efficient network designs. Teaching includes Digital and Analog Electronics at York, with previous roles covering wireless communications, signals & systems, and microcontrollers. He supervises PhD students in topics like 6G digital twins, machine learning for energy efficiency, and blockchain in IoT. Key projects include: Enhancing O-RAN with AI/RL for network training Green, secure wireless networks for sustainable autonomous systems Cell-free MIMO testbed development His work bridges theoretical advancements with practical implementations, addressing challenges in 6G architecture, UAV network reliability, and decentralized spectrum management.
