Elvis-Yane Cuevas-Martinez is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston , with membership in the Mitchell Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases . He earned a Q.F.B. in Chemistry and Pharmacobiology from Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Mexico, and a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM), followed by postdoctoral research at the National Center for Toxicological Research (FDA, USA). Research Focus: Sex/gender differences in Alzheimer's, blood-brain barrier pathophysiology, neurotoxicity, neuroinflammation, protein aggregation, and neurovascular dysfunction Key Collaborations: International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment, Society for Neuroscience, Arkansas Chapter of Society for Neuroscience Scientific Contributions: 51 research outputs (including 39 articles), 23 h-index, 1692 citations in Scopus Scientific Recognition: Recipient of multiple awards including NCTR Special Act Awards (2020, 2019), Mexican SNI Level 1 Membership (2018), and UNAM Science Fair First Place (2008).
