Amanda Sonnerfeldt is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration within the School of Economics and Management at Lund University. She holds a PhD in Business Law and serves as Assistant Head of Department. Her research focuses on transnational regulation, corporate reporting, auditing, and the historical and contemporary development of the accountancy profession. She actively supervises PhD students and teaches courses in Financial Accounting, International Auditing, and Law and Auditing at both bachelor and master levels. Her educational background includes a doctoral dissertation supported by scholarships from Stiftelsen FARs Jubileumsfond & Reidar Peters Stipendium, exploring global standards on sustainability assurance through socio-legal and social science lenses. Prior to academia, she gained extensive experience in accounting and finance across Asia, Europe, and the U.S. Research interests span regulatory issues in emerging corporate reporting practices, ethical codes for accountants, and the globalization of the accountancy profession. She collaborates with international organizations like UNCTAD and has presented at global conferences such as the GRI Conference and SMART conference. Key areas include sustainability assurance, integrated reporting in public sectors, and tax policy implications. Awards include the Lund Student Pedagogical Prize (2022), The CH Witt Prize (2022), and Teacher of the Year at LUSEM (2018). She leads projects like 'Beyond Boundaries: Exploring Who are the Auditors in the Algorithmic Age' and 'Sustainable Companies Norwegian Research Council.' Her work bridges academic research with practical insights through workshops, peer reviews, and executive courses. She is affiliated with networks like the Digitax Theme at Pufendorf, contributing to taxtech legitimacy and compliance research. Her involvement in transnational governance and institutional dynamics reflects her commitment to advancing ethical and sustainable practices in global accounting frameworks.
