Eunok Yim is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), leading research in fluid dynamics and hydropower technologies. She is affiliated with the Hydro Energy and Applied Fluid Dynamics Laboratory and contributes to the PhD program committee for Energy at EPFL. Education: B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from KAIST, Korea (2010, 2012), Ph.D. in Fluid Dynamics from École Polytechnique, France (2015) Her research spans fluid stabilities , CFD numerical modeling , and applied fluid dynamics for hydropower . She has investigated centrifugal instabilities, Leidenfrost effects, and turbulent flow control. Her work appears in journals like the Journal of Fluid Mechanics and Physical Review Fluids . Recent publications focus on nonlinear instability modeling , vortex dynamics in stratified fluids , and flow control mechanisms . These studies highlight her expertise in both fundamental and applied fluid dynamics. She mentors PhD student Toledo Lester Corpin and teaches courses such as Introduction to Turbomachinery .
