Marina Orsini-Jones is a Professor in Global Higher Education Practice (Applied Linguistics) at Coventry University's Research Centre for Global Learning, where she leads the Promoting Equity and Equality in Education theme. She previously served as Associate Head for Internationalisation and Course Director for the MA in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics in the School of Humanities. She holds a doctorate from Coventry University (2012) and has pioneered e-learning innovation since the 1990s, including a multimedia CD-ROM adopted globally for Italian language education. Her research focuses on collaborative online international learning (COIL), virtual exchange, and decolonization of curricula. She has secured grants from the British Council, HEA, and British Academy/Leverhulme for projects in Brazil, China, and beyond. Education: Doctorate in Applied Linguistics, Coventry University (2012) Research interests include Third Space Learning, threshold concepts pedagogy, and equity in HE. She has presented at over 100 conferences, including 20 plenaries, and serves as Associate Editor for International Journal of Computer Assisted Language Learning and Journal of Virtual Exchange . Awards include the National Teaching Fellowship (2013) and Principal Fellowship (2016). Current projects explore female leadership in South-North virtual exchanges and EDI in global education. Grants & Projects: 6 active/finished projects including 'Female Voices in the Third Space' (2023-2025) and 'Tamkeen' (Egyptian female academic leadership). She supervises PhD students on co-tutelle programs with Brazil and Australia. External roles include External Examiner at Sheffield Hallam and Southampton Universities.
