Darius Abramavičius is a Professor at the Institute of Chemical Physics within Vilnius University's Physics Faculty. He serves as Vice-head of Vilnius University Senate and is an active member of both the University Senate and the Physics Faculty Council. His research focuses on theoretical aspects of quantum dynamics in molecular systems. Professor Abramavičius specializes in mathematical physics, statistical physics, quantum mechanics, and quantum relaxation theory. His research interests include molecular spectroscopy, excitons, paulions, 2DIR (two-dimensional infrared spectroscopy), 2DES (two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy), Redfield theory, and cumulant approach. His work bridges theoretical quantum mechanics with practical spectroscopic applications, particularly in understanding energy transfer processes in complex molecular systems. His publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on developing theoretical frameworks for understanding quantum phenomena in molecular aggregates. The trend across his work shows progression from foundational theoretical models to increasingly sophisticated applications of multidimensional spectroscopy techniques. His research has particular relevance for understanding photosynthetic systems and designing novel photonic materials.
