Dr. Jan Hare is a Professor and Dean at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Education . As a Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Pedagogy and recipient of the 2014 Indigenous Education Professorship, she focuses on transforming educational systems through Indigenous knowledge frameworks. Her research examines: Indigenous knowledge integration in teacher education Early childhood literacy across cultural contexts Digital technology accessibility for Indigenous communities Reconciliation through curriculum reform Recent publications analyze: 2021 digital technology access patterns in early education 2017-2016 framework for superdiverse teacher training Longitudinal studies on Indigenous youth educational transitions Key awards include: Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Pedagogy (2013) Professorship in Indigenous Education (2014) She supervises Indigenous graduate students like Danielle Mashon and leads major grants including: SSHRC-funded Aboriginal Family Literacy Curriculum ($283K) Ministry of Advanced Training's Aboriginal Language Immersion Certificate ($98K)
