Dr. Ralf Herwig is a computational biologist at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin, Germany. His work focuses on statistical methods for integrative analysis of gene expression, proteomics, and metabolomics data to model biological processes in human diseases like cancer and diabetes. He develops tools such as ConsensusPathDB for molecular interaction networks and IsoTools for long-read RNA-seq analysis. Education: Diploma in mathematics (Free University of Berlin), PhD in mathematics/statistics (FU Berlin) on clustering algorithms and information-theoretic methods.
