Dr Jingwen Huo is a Research Fellow in Technological Innovation and Climate Change at University College London's Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction. As a member of the International Input-Output Association (IIOA), Dr Huo specializes in developing global multi-regional input-output models and analyzing sustainable development pathways across international supply chains. Dr Huo's research program focuses on the development of global multi-regional input-output (MRIO) models, supply chain analysis, and exploring low-carbon transitions. Their work spans environmental economics, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development, with particular attention to carbon emissions accounting, resource management, and the economic implications of environmental policies across global supply chains. Methodologically, they employ advanced input-output techniques to trace environmental impacts through complex economic systems. Analysis of Dr Huo's publication record reveals a consistent research trajectory in environmental-economic systems analysis. Their work demonstrates expertise in applying MRIO models to pressing sustainability challenges, with recent publications addressing carbon inequality, vaccine supply chains, freshwater boundaries, and compound crisis impacts. The 2020 paper on global supply-chain effects of COVID-19 control measures has been particularly influential with over 680 citations. Dr Huo maintains active research collaborations across multiple institutions as evidenced by extensive co-authorship networks. Their work has garnered significant scientific attention, with multiple publications receiving over 50 citations each, and has been referenced in policy documents and covered by numerous news outlets, demonstrating real-world impact.
