Professor Fiona B. Adamson is a leading academic in International Relations at SOAS University of London, specializing in migration, conflict, and security. She holds the rank of Professor of International Relations and currently serves as Associate Editor of Security Studies and co-president of the American Political Science Association's Migration and Citizenship section. Her academic career includes roles as Head of Department (2010–2013) and Research Director (2018–2021) at SOAS, and prior directorship of UCL's International Public Policy Programme. She is an adjunct faculty member at Chatham House and leads the EU-funded MAGYC project on migration governance. Education: BA (Stanford University), PhD (Columbia University). Research focuses on diaspora geopolitics, forced migration diplomacy, and the interplay between mobility and state-building.
