Linda Carozza is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Pace University’s College of Health Professions. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at New York University Langone Medical Center. Her work bridges academic research, clinical practice, and education in adult neurogenic communication disorders. Her research interests include the neurogenic underpinnings of aphasia, dementia, and motor speech disorders. She investigates early speech biomarkers for dementia and focuses on improving quality of life for individuals with chronic communication disabilities. Her work emphasizes research-driven intervention models and interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly in dementia care and PTSD-related communication effects. The recent publications highlight a strong trend toward interdisciplinary research, integrating speech science with humanistic medicine, music therapy, and psychological trauma. Her work spans clinical research, educational leadership, and public outreach through podcasts and workshops. She is actively involved in national initiatives like the International Aphasia Movement and collaborates with Haskins Laboratory. She leads the Adult Communication Disorders Lab at Pace University, which conducts empirical and descriptive research on dementia, aphasia, and related conditions. The lab partners with clinical sites and offers students hands-on research and clinical training opportunities. It also supports community engagement through the on-site Speech and Hearing Center.
