Anouar Belahcen is a Full Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation at Aalto University. His research focuses on magnetic materials modeling, numerical analysis of energy conversion devices, and electromechanical systems. Key interests include iron loss characterization in electrical machines, magnetomechanical coupling phenomena, and vibration/noise analysis.
Belahcen leads the Computational Electromechanics research group and has pioneered advancements in anisotropic hysteresis modeling, multi-scale material characterization, and fault diagnostic methodologies using machine learning. His work bridges computational electromagnetics with practical applications in electric traction systems and renewable energy infrastructure.
