Cyrielle Elyette Fougeroux serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Immunology and Microbiology within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on adenovirus vaccine platforms, malaria immunization strategies, and novel adjuvant development. She maintains active collaborations with international institutions including University Medical Center Freiburg, Sirion Biotech, and GSK, with her work on cVLP-based vaccines leading to patent development. Education: PhD in Immunology and Infectious Diseases (2014-2017), Center for Medical Parasitology, University of Copenhagen Master in Immunology (2011-2013), Pasteur Institute Immunology Advanced Program, Paris Bachelor in Physiology, Cellular and Molecular Biology (2009-2011), Paris Dr. Fougeroux's research centers on molecular mechanisms of immune responses against extracellular pathogens, with emphasis on adenovirus vectors for malaria vaccination and novel adjuvant systems. Her work bridges basic immunology and translational vaccine development, particularly investigating the EPCR-binding domains of PfEMP1 for malaria and capsid virus-like particles for SARS-CoV-2 and cancer applications. She has developed freeze-drying techniques enabling ambient-temperature vaccine storage, addressing critical distribution challenges in resource-limited settings. Analysis of her 17 publications reveals strong focus on capsid virus-like particle platforms across multiple disease targets. Her work demonstrates consistent innovation in vaccine vector design, with recent expansion into therapeutic cancer vaccines. The research shows progression from basic vector development (2022) to clinical translation (2023 Lancet Microbe paper) and novel applications in oncology (2025 publication), maintaining strong emphasis on molecular immunology mechanisms throughout. Scientific Recognition: Award for best presentation at Young Researcher Forum, Eurovaccine Conference, Paris Dr. Fougeroux actively supervises early-career researchers, having mentored 2 lab technician trainees, 1 medical student, 2 master's students, and 1 bachelor's student during her postdoctoral tenure. She manages laboratory operations including weekly group meetings, database creation, and standard operating protocols. Her international collaborations span Danish, German, and French institutions, with notable partnerships including the COUGH-1 trial study group and University Medical Center Freiburg. Current research includes adenovirus vaccine strategies, adjuvant development for extracellular pathogens, and malaria vaccine requirements evaluation.
