معرفی
Robert Dagil is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology and Microbiology at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. He is a member of the VAR2CSA research team and maintains an active research profile with numerous recent publications in high-impact journals.
Education:
- Ph.D in Structural Biology and NMR Laboratory, Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen (2013)
- M.Sc. in Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen (2008)
Dr. Dagil's research focuses on protein structure-function relationships, with particular expertise in NMR spectroscopy, crystallography, and protein production techniques. His work has evolved from fundamental structural biology to translational applications in both infectious disease and oncology. He specializes in protein production, conjugation experiments, and development of upstream/downstream processes for recombinant proteins. His recent work demonstrates a significant shift toward cancer immunotherapy, particularly targeting oncofetal chondroitin sulfate for tumor detection and therapy development.
Analysis of his recent publications (2023-2025) reveals a strong emphasis on developing novel cancer therapies through antibody targeting of specific glycosaminoglycans. His work spans multiple high-impact areas including multi-cancer detection methods, CAR T-cell therapies, bispecific T-cell engagers, and tumor-agnostic therapeutic approaches. While maintaining connections to infectious disease research (particularly malaria and SARS-CoV-2), his primary focus has shifted toward oncology applications with several publications in Nature Communications, The Lancet Microbe, and other prestigious journals.
Dr. Dagil is actively involved in multiple collaborative research projects, particularly within the VAR2CSA team at the University of Copenhagen, where he contributes expertise in protein production and structural analysis. His work bridges fundamental protein science with clinical applications, demonstrating a strong translational research approach.
