Anton Mellit is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Vienna. His research spans algebraic geometry, combinatorics, low-dimensional topology, and theoretical physics, with notable contributions to moduli spaces, Macdonald polynomials, and categorification. He completed his PhD in 2008 under Don Zagier at the University of Bonn and held postdoctoral positions in Bonn, Cologne, Trieste, and Klosterneuburg before joining Vienna in 2017. Doctor of Natural Sciences, University of Bonn (2008) Master in Applied Mathematics, National Technical University of Ukraine (2004) Bachelor in Applied Mathematics, National Technical University of Ukraine (2002) Mellit's work focuses on connections between algebraic geometry and combinatorics, particularly in character varieties, Higgs bundles, and quantum cohomology. His recent publications highlight advancements in understanding Poincaré polynomials, Serre duality, and the interplay between moduli spaces and hypergeometric functions. He has received prestigious recognition, including an ERC Consolidator Grant for his project "REFINV: Refined Invariants in Combinatorics, Low-Dimensional Topology, and Geometry of Moduli Spaces." His collaborations with leading researchers in mathematics and physics underscore his interdisciplinary impact.
