Scott D. Graffin is a Professor in the Department of Management at the Terry College of Business, University of Georgia. His research focuses on corporate governance, CEO reputation and status, and succession dynamics. He has served on editorial boards for top-tier journals like Strategic Management Journal (2020–present) and Academy of Management Journal (2010–present), including as Associate Editor (2013–2016). PhD in Strategic Management, University of Wisconsin–Madison MBA in Management, University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh BBA in Accounting, University of Wisconsin–Madison His research examines how board experiences influence CEO performance, the role of CEO risk tolerance in compensation design, and the strategic implications of reputational collisions. Recent work includes studies on celebrity competitors and how status shapes misconduct scandals. Graffin has received multiple teaching awards, including the Hugh O. Nourse Outstanding MBA Teacher Award and multiple Professor of the Year honors. He is an International Research Fellow at the University of Oxford's Centre for Corporate Reputation and has earned the Terry College of Business Research Excellence Award.
