Francesca Carobene is a Researcher specializing in advanced nuclear reactor technologies, particularly Molten Salt Reactors (MSRs). Currently, she works at NRGroup since 2023, focusing on neutronics, thermal-hydraulics, simulation frameworks, and Digital Twin development for MSRs. She holds a PhD (2013) from an unspecified institution, where her thesis explored the MSR's potential for thorium utilization. Prior to her current role, she worked at the Paul Scherrer Institute (SUI). Her MSc (2009) thesis addressed COMSOL® analysis for MSR thermo-fluid dynamics, and her R&D work includes modeling inert gas bubbles, noble metals deposition, and passive safety systems in nuclear reactors. Education: MSc in Nuclear Engineering (2009): Thesis on COMSOL® capabilities for MSR analysis. PhD in Nuclear Engineering (2013): Thesis on MSR as a fast-spectrum candidate for thorium. R&D Focus: Molten Salt Reactors: neutronics, thermal-hydraulics, and multiphysics modeling. Hydrogen production via MSR systems. Digital Twin development for reactor simulations.
