David Beebe is the John D. MacArthur Professor and Claude Bernard Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, affiliated with the Biomedical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering and the School of Medicine and Public Health. His work integrates microengineering with cell biology to model in vivo microenvironments for cancer and infectious disease research. Research Focus : Cancer biology (prostate, head and neck), wound healing, immune cell dynamics, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing using microphysiological systems. Technical Innovations : Development of open microfluidic platforms, under-oil cell culture methods, and devices for accelerated diagnostics. Applications : Personalized medicine, drug response assays, and biofilm interaction studies. Contact: djbeebe@wisc.edu , Room 6009, Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research, Madison, WI.
