Femi Owolade is a Research Associate at the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR) within the College of Social Sciences and Arts at Sheffield Hallam University, joining in 2023 to work on the National Civic Impact Accelerator (NCIA) project funded by Research England. His role involves analyzing evidence of effective civic impact and observing action learning processes with university leaders. Education: LLB (Hons) MA PhD from King's College London His research centers on power dynamics, marginalized communities, and educational inequalities in higher education, with expertise in equality interventions, socio-economic entrepreneurship barriers, and colonial legal history. He has led significant projects addressing Black student underrepresentation in postgraduate research and civic university mission development. Recent publications (2022-2025) reveal a cohesive focus on civic university frameworks, widening participation for underrepresented groups, and colonial historical analysis. Key trends include empirical studies of race equality initiatives, mentorship efficacy for Black students, and critical examinations of resource allocation for civic impact, demonstrating interdisciplinary integration of education policy, social justice, and institutional leadership.
