Shuxia Lu is a Professor at the School of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering at Binghamton University. She holds a BS from Hebei University of Technology (China), an MS from Tianjin University (China), and a PhD from Texas Tech University (USA). Her research focuses on Reliability , Statistical Process Control , Information Technology , and Computer Integrated Manufacturing , with interdisciplinary interests in systems science and industrial applications. Recent work spans advanced materials for catalysis and sensors, psychosocial dynamics in humor and health, and cross-cultural business challenges. Her publications highlight innovations in nanostructured sensors for VOC detection, AI-driven health monitoring systems, and behavioral studies on risk preferences and pandemic resilience. She also explores catalytic materials for environmental applications and organizational leadership models. Collaborations include studies on radiation therapy quality assurance, wearable sensor platforms, and biocompatible nanocomposites. Her research bridges engineering, psychology, and environmental science to address real-world challenges in health, industry, and technology.
