Dr. Junaid Zubairi is a SUNY Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at the State University of New York at Fredonia. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University and has extensive academic and professional experience spanning over two decades. His roles include leadership in multiple universities, including serving as Chair since 2019 and Professor since 1999. Education: Ph.D. (Computer Engineering), Syracuse University M.S. (Computer Engineering), Syracuse University B.E. (Electrical Engineering), NED University, Pakistan Research focuses on network traffic engineering, smart cities, cybersecurity, aviation data systems, and IoT applications. His work includes innovations like the patented Flight Data Tracker (FDT) and contributions to disaster management algorithms. Key research areas also involve healthcare networks and optimization of emergency response systems. Publications span over 30 peer-reviewed articles, with recent emphasis on smart city traffic solutions and emergency vehicle routing.
