Soichiro Tsujino is a Senior Scientist at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) and holds a Visiting Professor position at the Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University, Japan, since April 1, 2025. His research spans Ultrasound Mechano-Biology , Acoustic Levitation , Coherent Electron Sources , Wavefront Engineering , and Vacuum Nanoelectronics . He specializes in integrating ultrasound and electron beam technologies for applications in Structural Biology , Microfluidics , and Nanoscale Imaging . His recent publications reflect a strong focus on acoustic manipulation for protein crystallography , including high-speed droplet mixing and electron beam interference control . Collaborations with institutions like Forschungszentrum Jülich, ESRF, and Swiss Nanoscience Institute highlight his interdisciplinary impact. 2025 : IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control (acoustic tweezing in microfluidics) 2024 : Japanese Journal of Applied Physics (electron beam control); Droplets (inertial mixing for crystallography) 2022 : Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology B (electron beam coherence); Scientific Reports (thin film levitation for structural studies) Dr. Tsujino has been recognized as a Top Reviewer in Applied Physics Letters (2018) and mentored PhD candidates like Shichao Jia (University of Basel, 2025), Pooja Thakkar (University of Basel, 2021), and Soheil Hajibaba (University of Zürich, 2024). Current grants include support from the Swiss National Science Foundation , Innosuisse , and the European Union's Horizon 2020 for projects combining acoustic levitation with synchrotron beamline technologies .
