Sahn-Wook Huh is an Associate Professor of Finance at the School of Management, University at Buffalo (SUNY). He holds a PhD from UCLA Anderson School of Management, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a BA from Seoul National University. His research focuses on asset pricing, market microstructure, empirical corporate finance, behavioral finance, and foreign exchange economics. He has published in top journals like the Review of Financial Studies and Management Science. Dr. Huh’s work explores informed trading dynamics, liquidity spillovers, and ESG reputational risks. His 2024 article on ESG and debt risk premia uses US corporate bond data, while his 2023 study examines brand innovation impacts on trading activities. Earlier research includes analyzing patent announcements’ effects on informed trading (2022) and liquidity metrics like the Amihud illiquidity premium (2013). He has received prestigious grants, including the Early Researcher Award ($190k) and SSHRC grants, and held the Fulbright Canada Distinguished Research Chair (2021-22). Awards include the Milton Plesur Excellence in Teaching Award and multiple best paper prizes at FMA conferences. His professional roles include serving as KAFA President (2018-19) and committee memberships in major finance associations. Before academia, he worked in investment banking and the Korean Ministry of Finance. His research has been featured in the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and has influenced policy and academic discourse globally.
