معرفی
Garrett Hester is an Associate Professor at Kennesaw State University's Department of Exercise Science and Sport Management, where he has worked since 2016. His research focuses on neuromuscular physiology, aging, resistance training, fatigue, female-specific muscle health, and sex differences. He obtained his PhD in Health and Human Performance from Oklahoma State University after completing undergraduate studies at Northeastern State University.
- Education:
- B.S. in Health and Human Performance, Northeastern State University
- M.S. and Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance, Oklahoma State University
Research Interests: Hester investigates how aging and fatigue impact muscle function, with emphasis on resistance training interventions. His work explores sex-specific physiological responses and uses advanced lab equipment like Biodex Dynamometers and Electromyography to analyze neuromuscular dynamics.
Publications: Recent studies include quercetin supplementation effects on postmenopausal women (2025), comparative fatigue analysis in females (2024), and aging-related torque characteristics (2023). His work spans muscle hypertrophy assessment, energy drink impacts, and sprint kinematics.
Awards: Recognized as a 2021 NIA Butler-Williams Scholar.
- Students:
- Kayla Anderson (undergraduate)
- Lacey Harper (graduate assistant)
- Kaden Buford (undergraduate)
- Benjamin Dalton (graduate student)
- Phuong Ha (PhD student)
- Alex Olmos (PhD researcher)
Labs: His team utilizes Biodex Dynamometers, portable force plates, and non-invasive muscle stimulation equipment for comprehensive physiological assessments.
