Vinit Parida is a Professor and Head of Subject for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Luleå University of Technology, within the Department of Social Sciences, Technology and Arts, Division of Business Administration and Industrial Engineering. He serves as Associate Editor for Journal of Business Research, is a Member of Swedish ministry's high-level group on digital transformation of Swedish industry, Scientific Leader for NorrlandsNavet, and Board member for RE:Source Strategic Innovation Program. His educational background includes a Bachelor in Commerce from Delhi University (2000), an Advance Diploma in Computer Applications (2000), an MBA with specialization in Electronic Commerce from Luleå University of Technology (2005), and a PhD in Entrepreneurship from Luleå University of Technology (2010). Professor Parida's research focuses on several key areas in business and innovation. His work spans servitization and advanced service innovation , business model innovation and scaling , digitalization and AI as enablers for innovation , industrial ecosystems development , circular economy and sustainable product service-systems , organizational capabilities and routines , and entrepreneurship in resource constrained environments . His research involves collaboration with major companies including ABB, Billerudkorsnäs, Boliden, Epiroc, Ericsson, IBM, Komatsu Forest, Lindbäcks, Metso, Sandvik Coromant, SCA, Scania, Siemens, Volvo Cars, and others. Professor Parida has published over 200 works in leading international journals including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Strategic Management Journal, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. His recent publications focus on AI-enabled innovation, digital business models, and entrepreneurial learning from failure, reflecting current trends in digital transformation and sustainable business practices. His scientific achievements have been recognized with several prestigious awards: Nordea Scientific Excellence Prize (2020) The Young Researcher Award for Entrepreneurship Research (2016) PhD Supervisor of the Year (2015) Award for Young Deserving Research in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (2013) Award for Excellent Research in Small Business (2010) Ranked among the 100 most productive and cited researchers in Sweden in Social Sciences by Fokus Professor Parida actively supervises PhD students, with notable advisees including Elizaveta Averina, Linus Thomson, Milad Kolagar, Lina Sundén, Anmar Kamalaldin, Angelica Löfberg, and others. He has received research funding from various sources including the Wallenberg Foundations, VINNOVA, and direct industry partnerships. His work bridges academic research with practical applications through collaborations with Swedish government ministries, the EU Commission, and numerous industry networks. He is involved in teaching courses at all levels (bachelor, master, PhD) and executive education, focusing on strategic business development, technology and innovation management, international entrepreneurship, and scientific methods. Professor Parida has also contributed to Swedish newspapers and practitioner-oriented outlets such as Ny Teknik and Dagen Industri.
