Lakey Lakey is a second-year PhD student in the Sustainable Agrifood Systems program at the Centre for Agriculture and the Bioeconomy. His research focuses on policy frameworks, socio-economic determinants, and climate-driven shocks influencing sustainable plant-based protein production practices, particularly legume integration. Before his PhD, Lakey worked at Bhutan's Department of Agriculture managing R&D programs and led multilateral projects like ACIAR. He contributed to Bhutan's National Adaptation Plan and Low Emission Development Strategy under its NDC. His expertise spans agricultural policy, climate resilience, and Bhutan's rural development. Previous roles include founding member of the Bhutanese Journal of Agriculture (associate editor) and core team for Bhutan’s climate adaptation strategies.
