Rochelle Steven is a Lecturer at Murdoch University's School of Environmental and Conservation Sciences, affiliated with the Harry Butler Institute and an Adjunct Researcher at the University of Western Australia (UWA)'s School of Biological Sciences. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from Griffith University (2011, with University Medal and Environmental Sciences Medal) and a PhD in bird conservation and avitourism (2015).
Her research focuses on conservation biology, avian ecology, urban biodiversity, and community-based conservation. She explores human-nature interactions, including citizen science in threatened species management, avitourism, and urban ecosystem services.
