David S. Byers is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research (GSSWSR) at Bryn Mawr College, affiliated with the International Studies and Gender and Sexuality programs. He holds a Ph.D. from Smith College School for Social Work and has completed postdoctoral work at Cornell University and psychoanalysis training at NYU. His research focuses on ethical theory in clinical practice, queer/trans theory, and international social work, with a particular emphasis on stigmatized care, bullying, and bystander intervention. Byers teaches clinical theory, research methods, and ethics, emphasizing interdisciplinary and translational approaches.
