Michael Parsons is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the Faculty of Business and Creative Industries, University of South Wales. He holds a PhD and extensive qualifications including a PGCE, MA International Studies, MSc Marketing, and BA (Hons) in International Relations and Politics. His teaching focuses on public relations, with a particular emphasis on innovative pedagogy such as crisis simulations and creative learning approaches. He has been honored with the USW STARS Enhancement Award multiple times for teaching excellence and curriculum innovation. His research spans higher education pedagogy, brand reputation management, and political marketing. Parsons is also an active member of professional bodies like the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and has consulted for SMEs, political groups, and charities. Recent research explores VR technologies in education and the impact of experimental learning simulations on student outcomes. His collaborative projects include analyzing political party strategies in response to UKIP and investigating fear-based marketing in Welsh political contexts. He consistently publishes in top journals like Computers in Human Behavior and presents at conferences such as the UK Academy for Information Systems.
