Dr. Antonia Purk is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Academic Coordinator of the Research Group 'Praxeologies of Truth' at the University of Erfurt's Faculty of Philosophy. She is affiliated with the Department of Literary Studies, focusing on 19th-century American literature, postcolonial studies, and Anglophone Caribbean literature. Her research explores intersections between literary foodways, history, and visual studies, particularly through the lens of Jamaica Kincaid's works. Her academic background includes a completed dissertation on Jamaica Kincaid’s writings of history, leading to her monograph *Jamaica Kincaid's Writings of History. A Poetics of Impermanence* (De Gruyter, 2023). She actively publishes in journals like *Discourse* and *COPAS*, addressing themes such as ekphrasis, historical consciousness, and colonial representations. Purk teaches courses on nature in American poetry, transatlantic identities, and graphic novels.
