Dr. Aliyuda Ali is a Lecturer in Computer Science and Software Engineering at the School of Computing and Digital Technologies, part of the College of Business, Technology and Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University. He holds a PhD in Automatic Control and Systems Engineering from the University of Sheffield (UK), an MSc from Usmanu Danfodiyo University (Nigeria), and a BSc from Gombe State University (Nigeria). His career includes roles as an Assistant Lecturer at Birmingham City University (2021–2024), a Research Associate at the University of Sheffield (2021), and a Graduate Teaching Assistant during his PhD (2018–2021). He also served as a Lecturer at Gombe State University (2011–2017). His research focuses on AI/ML-driven solutions for Sustainable Development Goals, including healthcare (SDG3), clean energy (SDG7), and industrial innovation (SDG9). He teaches courses such as MSc Big Data Analytics, BEng Software Engineering, and BSc Computer Science with AI. His modules include Programming Concepts, Software Architecture, and Reflective Skills for Apprentices. Dr. Ali’s publications span AI in education, medical imaging via deep learning, energy systems modeling, and reservoir engineering. His work addresses challenges like natural gas storage optimization, pest control through machine learning, and sustainable environmental practices. He is affiliated with the Industry and Innovation Research Institute and actively contributes to collaborative research projects. His expertise bridges academia and industry, emphasizing practical applications of technology for societal impact.
