Kristina Krklec is an Associate Professor at the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb, where she teaches courses including Global Ecology, Geomorphology with Fundamentals of Geology, and Geomorphology and Landscape Ecology. She earned her PhD in Geology from the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Science in 2011, focusing on carbonate rock corrosion and relief genesis. Her career progression includes roles as Assistant (2008–2012), Senior Assistant (2012–2016), Assistant Professor (2016–2021), and Associate Professor (2021–present). Her research centers on karst geomorphology, rock weathering, and paleoclimate reconstruction , utilizing isotopic analysis, U-Th dating, and denudation measurement techniques. She investigates pedogenic carbonates, cave ventilation dynamics, and soil-cave hydrology to decode past climate signals and landscape evolution.
