Dr. Randi J. Ulbricht serves as Associate Professor and Co-Director of Biomedical Sciences Programs within the School of Health Sciences at Missouri State University. She additionally directs graduate programs for the Biomedical Sciences MS and Graduate Certificate tracks, while acting as the official pre-dental advisor. Her contact information includes email RandiUlbricht@MissouriState.edu and office KMPT 343 on the Springfield campus. Her educational foundation comprises: PhD in Biology, University of Missouri-St. Louis MS in Biology, University of Missouri-St. Louis BS in Cell and Molecular Biology, Missouri State University Dr. Ulbricht's research centers on Adenosine-to-Inosine RNA editing—a critical post-transcriptional modification where adenosines convert to inosines, altering RNA function and protein coding. Her work investigates tissue-specific regulation of this process and its dysregulation in disease states, seeking to understand physiological impacts from cellular to organismal levels. Complementing her molecular research, she maintains a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in science education. As Graduate Program Director, she oversees curriculum development and student mentorship for master's and certificate programs. Her advising extends specifically to pre-dental students through the Biomedical Sciences program, providing tailored guidance for dental career pathways. Dr. Ulbricht's dual focus on RNA biology mechanisms and inclusive educational practices defines her academic profile.
