Gencay Çubuk is an Associate Professor at Trakya University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture, where she has been actively contributing to architectural education and research since 2017. She completed her undergraduate studies at Yıldız Technical University Department of Architecture and her master's at Istanbul Technical University in Architectural Design. She earned her PhD from Trakya University in 2022 and was promoted to Associate Professor in April 2024. Her educational journey began at Antalya Science High School, graduating in 2007. She has taught various courses including Computer Aided Design II (CAAD), Current Professional Practices, Globalization and Spatial Structuring, Space Design, Architectural Project courses, and Introduction to Digital Tools in Architecture. She has served as a jury member for architectural projects at multiple universities including Yıldız Technical University, Özyeğin University, Bahçeşehir University, and Altınbaş University. Çubuk's research focuses on architectural design, urban development, heritage conservation, and digital technologies in architecture. Her work explores spatial themes in urban identity formation, innovative approaches to architectural heritage through 3D printing and big data, and the intersection of architecture with contemporary art and social issues. She has pioneered research on floating structures, dystopian architecture, and the application of computational methods to architectural design processes. Her scholarly contributions demonstrate a strong interdisciplinary approach that bridges architecture with data science, environmental studies, and cultural theory. The analysis of her recent publications reveals a consistent focus on integrating traditional architectural knowledge with emerging technologies and methodologies, particularly in the areas of heritage conservation, spatial analysis, and sustainable design practices. Her professional service includes moderating the 2022 Italian Design Days, serving on the jury of MimED 2024, and participating in the organizing committee of the XIII. International Sinan Symposium in 2023. She has also contributed to numerous workshops and exhibitions on parametric design and digital architectural tools, demonstrating her commitment to advancing architectural education and practice through innovative research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
